An Anchorage Multi-Function Response Team is composed of 9 Scouts and a single Collaborative Combat Troop (CCT). Each team is then organized into three similarly outfitted close combat subunits, composed of three shooters each, with independent team leaders for each cell.

Breaking the element into three subunits has been repeatedly proven in combat as the most lethal when employing small unit tactics, dating back to American Expeditionary Forces fighting in World War I.
